My Buggy

If you look closely at the bottom of the buggy where the pan bolts to the fiberglass, you will notice a home made body lift. This is constructed from 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 square tube. The radius bends were made by "Kerfing" or cutting the tube steel in sections 1 inch apart, but not all the way through the tubing. Next, shape the tube by bending to the same radius as the floor pan and clamping to hold shape secure. Weld the cuts solid and grind smooth for a smooth look. The other angles were a simple task of scribing the angles directly to the tube and cutting them to shape. This tube is used to help support the weak fiberglass body, and as a mounting point for the roll cage.
